80's...Horner or Wallach at 3b?

PostSat Apr 04, 2015 10:23 am

Playing in Veterans Stadium. Received Wallach, but Horner was dropped. Am thinking of picking up Horner. Never really had much luck with Wallach, although he's much better defensively. Any advice? Thanks

What other options are there? Darrel Evans or Ron Cey would be better choices as would Toby Harrah from my experience. Even Doug Decinces would be a better option.

Evans and Harrah are there. I thought about Harrah also. I'm also gonna check out YountFan's site to compare. Thanks for your input.

Wallach is a top choice. He is generally solid and seems to out play his cards. Horner is good too. Cey and Harrah seems to be on the wire alot. Based on the Vet I'd start with Wallach and see where that goes.

Re: 80's...3B/1B's for Oakland Coliseum

Looking for the best fit for Oakland Coliseum.
Have Reynolds and Burleson - an all-1 IF
Been offered trade- Boggs for Hernandez. Could DH Carew as leadoff, would need a 3B
Considerations are:
Pendleton - competes the all-1 IF
Harrah - good OBP
Wallach - better power, but Oakland will limit HR's
Madlock - best OBP, weak D
Only power is currently Lynn, Gedman, Oglive and Bonilla, (although Bonilla would drop for an OF if Carew DH"s)
2/3 in my Division are Fenway and Wrigley
Any suggestions?

I'd go with Harrah, but if you really want an all 1 rated defensive infield, Pendleton does have a couple of good years.

I would not trade Boggs for Hernandez. The good Boggs seasons will still hit quite well in Oakland. Check out Alvin Davis or Hrbek for first base if available. Better power than Hernandez.

Thanks!
Keeping Boggs...
Neither Davis or Hrbek available, but added Easler/McRae as DH's w/ Carew at 1B.
Currently have Lowenstein in RF, so looking for his platoon at $2.5M.
Have Coleman, but can't count on him for more than PR to start.
