I was just wondering if anybody stayed in touch with Bobby. You old timers will remember him. Lived in Los Vegas and adopted some Russian kids. I was just wondering how he was doing.

Great question! Have not heard nor seen him in years. Truly a great guy, and a class act...

Ditto, one of the greatest guys and most positive people I ever had the good fortune to meet. He generously hosted the tournaments in Las Vegas, paying for everything like the conference room in the casino, logistical set-ups, and wonderful dinners etc. Plus, he took us out at night to places like the Playboy Club! Not many people would do all that, be so giving, but he loved the camaraderie and was genuine and authentic in his passion for Strat-O-Matic and meeting the guys. What indelible experiences! I had the luck of the roll to win one of those tournaments, besting my buddy Agabriel in the finals. Nothing like head to head playing. Lou Gehrig was my MVP. Knowing Bobby, I'm sure he's doing very well on all of life's fronts, best holiday cheers to him! :D 8-) ;) :!:

I haven't seen him since he was kind enough to treat my wife and I to dinner a few years back as we passed through Las Vegas enroute to Salt Lake City. I truly cannot say enough good things about him. Not only was he a super person and thoroughly dedicated to Strat, but he helped spur a lot of us to contribute to his "cancer center of the year" that specialized in treating children. I still contribute to a few of those organizations. Joe O'Conner may have a better idea of what he's up to now but, whatever it is, I'm positive he's doing well. But I sure miss him.

Tom, did you query him about coming back at all? A lot of us miss him. He was an inspirational guy.

He didn't rule out coming back completely, Matt, but he was definite about moving on.

Hello everyone....It's been such a long time since my last post. Everything here in Las Vegas has been going well. I've been active in my retirement with the children and recently rescued a beautiful German Shepherd female approximately a year ago and now she's about 3 1/2 yrs old. Her name is Miya and now registered as my Emotional Support Animal, so she gets to come everywhere with me. She is my best friend and has been really important in case the New England Patriots lose...lol,lol. Forget about the Red Sox, I would need a pack of dogs for that team...lol,lol...The boys are all doing fine with Bobby Jr. recently graduating from UNR with an MBA , Jonny about to graduate UNLV with a BSBA in accounting, Joseph (Jenya) about to graduate high school for college and Bogdan. Now he's my challenge, as he is attending a special education academy and everyday is a new adventure. Boni is as beautiful as ever and fills her time as a CASA volunteer for foster children and doing other charitable work in the area. For my spare time, I have a small eBay store selling mostly leather bound editions of all kinds of literature. It's been fun I do have the pleasure of seeing JOEOC every year as he visits Las Vegas and keeps me in touch with old memories of Strat. I do miss it and one never knows if I get the desire to make a comeback...lol,lol...I hope everyone is doing well and wanted to wish all of you a very Happy New Year. Take care.

It's great hearing from you Bobby and thanks for all of the news about the family and their successes ! You'll always be on my mailing list for Barnstormers. Do drop in more often and we hope very much to see you in a comeback league or two.
