I do not mind losing at all. It's just become very redundant for me.

They did a player addition for the franchise game players which has nothing to do with me and now I will have to wait another 6 - 8 months for the next batch. This current list of players we are adding is horrible in my opinion and now people are banding together to form a list to help franchises again. They couldn't add Harper because the 2015's aren't out yet but they can make a Daniel Murphy card during the world series over night. Doesn't really add up for me.

Clearly this isn't a game for players like myself which I can respect because I'm new to strat compared to most people that play. The game doesn't belong to me I'm just a noob. I'm spending $80-$120 a month on it though and to win to get free credits you had to pretty much build the team one of 3 ways and get lucky in the draft. Despite having 13,051,850,518 cards it really comes down to if you get a good chunk of 30 of them. I'm probably wrong but being able to add the first Washington Nationals player would have given me a fun player to go after at least but most were against it. I'm not a fan of playing the current season leagues. So it's just not the place for me and to spend that kind of money a month.

Oh and being accused of having 2 teams by some insane person doesn't really help. I lose just fine with 1.

It wasn't that everyone was against adding Harper, it's that we all KNOW that SOM is not going to add a card before it's officially released. The "mock" Murphy card (and cards like it) are not "officially sanctioned" SOM cards.

It's drag that this game seems to put off new players. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Until you play this game in it's original format (cards and dice) You're probably not going to "get" how it works.

Seems like a lot of key players are against adding players from the past 10 years. Maybe it just seems that way to me. You're most likely right. Just my perception.

I might grab the original game and try it out with my kids. Maybe next Christmas.

Actually, it's probably just me that wouldn't mind a 5-10 year waiting period on adding cards to ATG. And it's just my opinion; it certainly isn't followed by Strat or the preponderance of the voters. There are just players from the 20th century who don't have a card, or who have a current card not really representative of their career, like Bill Buckner, that I'd prefer to see added before more recent cards. I sure wouldn't leave because of it. I would guarantee that in the current voting climate, if you renominate Harper once the card is created in a couple of months, it will be one of the top vote getters.

Sorry man didn't mean that was the only reason or to blame anyone. It's a combo of reasons that I mentioned and that just broke the camels back type deal. Just not a game for me at this point. I think if I liked the franchise stuff more it might have expanded the redundancy for me but I cannot get into it considering I'm a Nationals fan and there are none and if there were they wouldn't compete very well anyway. (Not into the expos).

I do want to use my last credit on a fun idea though if anyone wants to add to the ideas!

What is this franchise game of which you speak? I've just played the atg tournament.

My biggest problem I think with adding new players - players that are not in the game should be a priority over adding a second, third or even 4th season to someone who is already in the ATG's.

Maybe the second issue I have is which season is added. If someone has only one card to represent them in the ATG's, please, please make it their best season.

People start a league where you can only pick one franchise to pick players from. So the best players of each team all time vs each other.

I wouldn't mind that at all. I really only like playing the post war up until about the 1990s players when playing ATG.

I am sad to see anyone leave this game.

I have to say it is a bit disappointing that Sandy Koufax is currently getting the top vote in this process. Do we really need another 9-10 mil Koufax card? While Koufax IS an All-Time Great, his greatness is already well represented in the set, so it really seems like a waste of a card to me.

IMHO, players that already have one or more cards for the same team should be ineligible for nomination. At the very least, drop and replace an existing card for such players.

Let's get some new skin in the game!
