Can someone please refresh my memory - if you use a player that *played* for your team during the years that are the manager's years, if you use a card for that player that was *not* during those years, is that still a core player for your team, or is he a free agent?
I think he's a core player even if you use a card from another year (not in the manager's era), as long as he played for your team during that manager's era. Is this right?
For example, in my Mike Hargrove 1991-99 Cleveland Indians, in the autodraft rights list is Roberto Alomar. Alomar has a 1999 cleveland card, but he also has a 1992 Toronto card and a 2001 Cleveland Card. Only the 1999 Cleveland card is with the Indians during 1991-99, but any of the three cards can be used by my 1991-99 Indians, because he played for them during that era, and any of the three cards would be considered a core player for my Indians, right? And it doesn't matter whether it's Alomar or anyone else in the card set - it's only necessary that the player played for the Indians during 1991-99 in order to be a core player, right?
Have I got this right?
