OK......I am going to try and explain this free agent draft procedure one more time, and then I am going to drop the subject. Maybe I just didn't do a good job of explaining it, and thus created so much confusion.
Using HARMONK as an example since he has the first pick: once he has chosen his second team: he then puts a draft roster together, instead of having to draft 25 players from his 2 chosen franchises, he only needs to have 24 and then the 25th player is a free agent from teams not taken (or a player from the Negro Leagues). For the sake of argument let's say he puts Oscar Charleton on his draft list; there is nothing preventing NYMETS99 (or any other manager for that matter) from also putting Oscar Charleton on their draft list! ( no manager has to reveal who he is drafting).
Just like in non franchise leagues Strat will randomly decide which manager gets said player. It is no different from when 4 or 5 players all try to get Ruth , but only one manager is lucky enough to get him. So what I don't understand here is how is this an advantage for any one player??????? There are more than enough players in the NEL to suffice: we are only talking 12 more players here; if you don't get your first choice and you don't like the player you get , just like always you can waive him and pick up someone else.
As I said before a supplemental draft would just slow the process down. And although I have seen the term randomizer before, I am not sure how it even works. If you guys decide on randomizers one of you will have to run with that aspect of the draft. I will just create the league once everything is good to go.
Let's draft.....paging POWRTRIP !
