Would love some feedback on how to program the settings. So far the settings are:

Closer: Regular
Reflier: Agresssive
LHSpecialist: Hassler (Avoid RHB, QuickHook)
RHSpecialist: Sherry (Avoid LHB, QuickHook)

Sutter, Wagner, and Murray all have no settings designated.

I would play that hand differently. By giving roles only to Hassler and Sherry, they will always be the first used in tight games, from the 7th inning to the rest of the game, whatever the situation (except against switch hitters).

That's what happened in the first game. Second game was different, because you were leading 8-3 (wasn't a tight game), so Murray came first to pitch. But when Musial hit a single (on his card), it became 8-5, and Murray was removed (after only 1 hitter) and the Hassler/Sherry duo came up before Sutter finished the game. And again, game 3, Sherry was the first to come.

So, with this set-up, you'll end up with Hassler and Sherry pitch 120 games or so. You might argue that they did the job (you won all three games, although allowing 2 hits and 1 walk while registering only two outs is hardly a good job), but it seems to me that you are playing with fire, not only by having them on the mound, but also because you run the chance of having someone like Murry removed after a few outs and not be avialable for the next game.

Here is what I would do:

Wagner: specialist vs lhp---but I would remove the quick hook (I believe you have to first save Wagner as specialist, the quick hook will be automatically be assigned, and then you remove the quick hook and save again)
Wagner set-up
Wagner closer
Sutter set-up
Sutter closer
LHSpecialist: Hassler (Avoid RHB, QuickHook)
RHSpecialist: Sherry (Avoid LHB, QuickHook)
Middle Murray

Two relievers will take 85% of the relief innings. >1m specialists will be fine with the rest. (the sub 1m will be about .500 in w/l and 67% in saves).

Have to disagree here..... I use 3 relievers all the time, and usually with much success, like this team when they won almost 50% of the teams games: http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/1401262

Or this team where one of the relievers throws 350 innings, wins 32 games, with a 3.33 era:

One more question: Bruce Sutter or Dale Murray? I currently have both but I will release one of them..I use Sutter all the time in the Mystery Games and I have never used Murray. I do know how to set up my bullpen based on who and what I got..

I also think Hoyt Wilhelm looks interesting (R4) and I have always liked that Willie Hernadez card..

@ Stratfanskip. Great teams!

How did you get 346 innings out of Hank Robinson? That is amazing!!

My point was that the money would be better spent on something else for 80m.

If I'm spending 4m+ on three relievers I want to know that the money is well spent.
Since two relievers will cover 400-450 innings, it would seem odd to waste another 4m on the >100 innings remaining, especially when I'm going to have to 'waste' money on .50 players. Why not just kick in another 1.50 or less and have three specialists who pick up the remainder?

Then I have extra cash to spend on other things, like one good starter, who will also take pressure off my relievers, leaving them rested to pick up more innings.
