Voted for Cunningham but also others on the bubble so not sure I helped the cause.

I would recommend considering Joe Gordon, who is currently on the cusp with 15 votes. He already has two cards, but this is his best season and merits inclusion. Gordon won the MVP that year, batting .322 and posting a .900 OPS, with 154+ OPS plus. He's bulletproof and--along with Doerr, was considered the great defensive 2B of his time, so will likely be a 1 at 2B. Like excellent the new Lazzeri card, this would almost certainly be an upgrade on his present cards and will likely be extensively used. The earlier Lazzeri cards weren't used much, but the new one is different and I think this will be, too. And we always need more middle infielders who can both field and hit.

I don't get the attraction with Cunningham. He hit .345 with no power and no speed. There are almost 200 batters in the set already who hit .345 or better.

What am I missing? Enlighten me!

Atm the cutoff is 16 with 6 players at the number. A class of 21 players. Some really good additions. I think the community has shown commendable good taste in the choices. Too bad about Ellsworth, but there is always a future vote.

Well he's certainly no Ritchie Cunningham!
And it looks as if Orlando Cabrera's now on the outside. Too bad, I would prefer him over Vizquel.

(I guess this means I don't get an ice-cream either.)

Other than the St. Louis homer factor, I don't see how Cunningham can be ahead of Mickey Vernon 1953. Both won batting titles, but Vernon also had 28 more XBH, slugged 40 points higher, and was 3rd in the AL MVP voting while Cunningham was 13th. Also don't ignore the ballpark effects - Vernon played in the Petco of his day (at least for LHB), Griffith Stadium while Cunningham was in the lefty haven formerly known as Sportsman's Park. And Vernon hit twice as many homers anyway.
