Please don't stone me to death.....

PostTue Jan 05, 2016 10:11 pm

Hey please don't stone me to death for asking this question but I am kind of curious, whatever happened to "He Who Shall Not Be Named"? Did he leave voluntarily or was he banned?

Believe me I understand the problem he created and I am not trying to start trouble or bring him back.... I did sort of feel sorry for the guy, anyone that disturbed had to be lonely and dealing with more issues than most. On the baseball side of things he had some things to say, his tone was all wrong though and he would argue such nonsense.

I must admit to being torn on the question of IF he should have been banned. Once I got tired of him, I just tried to ignore him, like when he accused me of using a ratings guide even though I told him I hadn't bought one since 2009... Cheers!~

I understand that "Hal" decided that he should not be named, after all. People other than myself played a direct role in this, but I played an indirect role in terms of my emails back and forth with STRAT over a period of time.

I also exchanged a number of PMs with he who shall not be named. I also think he was a nice person, although I know there were other specific opinions among our online community .

I believe that the decision was (a) in the best interest of the online strat community, and (b) was not made lightly or hastily by Strat. The problem was that he tended to derail many good online discussions, which had a detrimenal effect on those discussions , and on the online community.

I don't think it's bad to ask and for me to reply, but I don't think we should debate the merit of the decision, either. Many have remarked on how the boards are functioning really well in the past few months, and I'm very happy to see that. Let's move on.

Don't know why it took so long for this change to be made but it's really easy to tell how much better it is around here now.

Definitely a good decision. I agree with Wavy, much more civil and some very good posts being shared.

Agreed the boards are what they should be again. The entire situation just kept escalating and I for one was drawn into it and just could not leave it alone any longer. If something like this ever happens again, I will know to just stay away, just not worth the time and effort to deal with again. Its too bad one could not understand and change their ways, sure there was some good in there.

"My momma always told me" - If you have a disagreement with someone and just can't seem to get along - walk a mile in their shoes. That way you will have their shoes and you'll be a mile away!

Anyone missing any shoes?

Did they ban him or did he leave voluntarily ? The joke about the shoes is funny.

hate to lose any baseball fan and especially a strat fan. we have a small little amazing world, mostly passionate baseball and stat geeks. I have almost never had a problem with anyone in any leagues. for the most part, sporting gentlemen. thanks.

I avoided that one problem and never engaged any of the attacks....if I want drama I can go to work.
