Ok, let's try and make a push to have 24 teams. Deadline is sunday night. Beware though that we'll start with 12 teams if recruitment fails.

Oops, a case of parallell writing....for the reasons I gave above, and according to the rules, Alexander will be a BlueJay, since the BlueJays have a lower payroll (53.5M vs approximately 57M)

Marc - just so I understand - I have a lot of 1985 jays with salaries under $1 million. (Only 1 is scheduled to start at a position - Garcia - I have all other positions covered with higher $ players from the 1985 Jays).

My understanding is that all of the jays under $1 million are on my "roster" - ie they are protected players for me, subject only to resolution for multicarded players that are also carded to other "franchise/years" in our league.

But - I can fill positions with other players not "owned" by other franchise/years in our league, without any limit, as long as their cards under under $1 million, right? And I can autodraft those cards under $1 million, even if they are not jays cards, right?

Everything you write is correct, but the Blue Jays have the particularity to have a roster of 15 players and 10 pitcher (unless the 1971 Pirates get on board, in which case you will lose Al Oliver). If you follow exactly the instructions I give earlier, you would have to put all 25 Blue Jays on your draft list, and so you would have access to the sub 1M free agent pool only in the waivers.

As I write this, I realize that some teams will have access to the FA pool earlier than others. So we could alternatively allow teams to draft N free agents, N being defined as 28 minus the number of players on your franchise team (In the case of the Blue Jays, N would be 3= 28-25, so you would be allowed to draft 3 sub 1M free agents...I'll give it some thoughts..
