The Boston Red Stockings are listed under the Atlanta Braves in Baseball Reference as "Also played as"

Ross Barnes is listed as a player who played for the Braves in the complete roster of all Players.

What more proof do you want?

How technical do we have to get in this?

Musial: Nothing personal, but the Boston Red Stockings are only listed by Baseball-Reference.com as part of the Braves from 1876-1882. See the link below, which was in my previous post:

http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/ATL/

Also, Barnes is listed by Baseball-Reference.com as having played for the Braves franchise only in 1881, when he played one more year for the Red Stockings. No mention is made of the years 1871-1875 when he played for the Boston Red Stockings. Look him up in the Braves' franchise players list below to see that he is only listed as playing for the Braves' franchise in 1881, not 1873, the year of his SOM card:

http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/ATL/bat.shtml

Based on the above evidence, it would appear that even Baseball-Reference.com does not consider the 1871-1875 Boston Red Stockings as part of the Braves franchise. Since Barnes' SOM card is from the 1873 Red Stockings, it appears that he is not considered to be part of the Braves franchise for that year.

Call it being technical if you like, but we have to look at all the facts before making a decision and the burden of proof should be on the person, in this case you, seeking an exception to SOM's determination that Barnes is not part of the Braves' franchise. Your argument is with SOM and Baseball-Refence.com, not me. If they supported your claim for Barnes, so would I.

Let's fill this thing. Somebody just jumped ship and we're now only at 7 teams. (we had 8).

Things were a lot simpler when we only have POST WWII cards.

Well as the great Pharoah Ramses said "So let it be written, so let it be done." Bernie has spoken, so it must be done.
Let's get on with this dog n pony show then.

Yes it does Moses - but that's contrary to Pharaoh's opinion.
