Ok Gents
Here's the current plan for LA-Z-BOY Black Jack Style
Rules
1. You are allowed to draft 2 stars ( 2 Hitters, 2 Pitchers, or a Hitter & Pitcher) that cannot exceed 21 Million in salary at anytime.
2. All other players (maximum of 28) must at all times have a salary of 4Million or less
3. Multiple Card Solution, If you drop any player (injured or healthy), YOU CANNOT PICK HIM UP AGAIN, period. He would be available to the rest of the league on a first come first served basis. Also,the player can be picked up by another manager at any time, whether he is injured or not. That way, there would be some strategy involved in how long another manager would risk waiting on an injured player he wants to pick up. This will lead to more strategy in making any roster moves, maybe even lead to more trades.
3.League Salary Cap will be 200 Million providing everyone the chance to maneuver their team as they see fit. I would think there will be substantial player movement especially at the beginning.
4.There will be unique stadiums, with the stadium selection, I don't see this as a handicap.
5. This will be a D/H Season
6. We'll draft 2 Stars, 5 players, and 1 Stadium (8 total) on diamonddope, then auto-draft the remainder
followed by an old time frenzy, that should actually mean something.
I would like to start drafting Friday 1/22/2016, have draft concluded by Wednesday 1/27/16 or earlier, then use the remaining time or Thursday 1/28/16 & Friday 1/29/16 to have all teams loaded by 7PM Eastern Friday, so Friday 1/29/16 at 11PM ET we can have a frenzy hopefully with no conflict. Opening Day would be Monday 2/1/2016
In the mean time we can watch the playoffs, familiarize yourself with the reduced pool of players, purchase our new teams, and start building a squad wish list so everyone will be ready for the Draft.
I hope you have fun with this different player pool for one season. I'm looking forward to your feedback at season's end to determine if we do this again sometime in the future.
