Best seasons ever for $2.36 mil Zahn & $6.22 mil Berra?

PostSat Jan 16, 2016 1:35 am

Has anybody ever gotten better seasons out of $2.36 mil Geoff Zahn or $6.22 mil Yogi Berra?

I've used both players a number of times and no season ever for either of them comes close to the season they had below.

Leroy Matlock, Ben Oglivie and Eddie Mathews also had excellent seasons, but I've actually had some comparable, if not better, seasons from them.

Note that the cap was $80 mil with no DH in the ATG8 post WWII set.

great season with 107 wins, I start a playoff semi on Monday against another Penmar park team[80m cap] that won 99 games. He too used the $6.22 Yogi .330 BA 58 HR 135 RBI he also used the 5 and change Reggie card and got 75 HR and 200 RBIs from him. [his team had a 300 + run dif. his team scored 1200 runs] I notice a trend of teams using Penmar lately with great results , I never tried it but may have to give it a try. Bill

Only fairly recently has there been a better season for Yogi 1950 in an ATG 6-8 80M league. Team 1402352
saw him with a 146.9 RC700. Your season resulted in 141.5. Third best, covering over 300 80M seasons, was 141.4, team 1399916. Typically he has a 107.6 RC700 in 80M extreme hitters parks such as Penmar.

Now Zahn is a different story. He had a 3.83/1.42 for your Lions. His ERA/WHIP average in 80M neutral parks is 5.20/1.64 covering 35 seasons. His best season in neutral parks, 150 IP minimum, was 3.86/1.46 (team 1113511). His highest win total prior to your team’s 24 was 22. Epic season I’d say.

I use Berra fairly often as my catcher on teams in lefty parks at caps of $80 mil and $100 mil. I've noticed since Yogi passed away that his SOM numbers seem to have gotten better. Is it just a coincidence?

Thanks for your input Maxie. I can always count on you for great statistical info. - Bernie
