RIP St Louis Rams

PostWed Jan 13, 2016 8:53 pm

Ironic I find myself a St Louisian who lost their football team to LA managing the Brooklyn Dodgers in a franchise league, who lost their baseball team to LA

Remember though that the Rams went from Cleveland to LA to St. Louis and now back to LA.

the Rams owner is worth 7.7 billion half of it from his wife of the Walmart family. he's a St. Louis native and named after enos slaughter and stan musial. he owns every pro team in Denver except for the Donkeys. his most valuable asset is Arsenal of the Premier English soccer league. he's a genius. he has his own stadium/arena/retail construction company so he pays himself to build the venues where his teams play. on top of that he gets Walmart stores to anchor his retail centers. oh, Stan Kronke is his name.

He's a genius? That's debatable. He married well - got to give him credit or smarts for that. Sort of like shooting fish in a barrel from that point on. There's an e in the middle of the last name - Kroenke. It's an understatement to say that he is the most dis-liked if not downright hated person in St. Louis. The NFL turned a blind-eye to their other rule about owning other sports franchises by his transferring them to his wife (DUH!) just as they turned a blind-eye to their relocation rules or guidelines in this latest move ("Rules? We don't need no stinking rules!")

I don't know about genius, but he's an expert at putting mediocre or worse products on the field.

The powers that be in the NFL had pretty well decided in advance that the Rams were moving to LA. Funny, as Spanos is much better liked by other owners, he lost out too. Stan did a good job of greasing the skids, getting Goodell to side with him.

It's pure hypocrisy that Goodell throws the St. Louis stadium out as unacceptable (paving the way for relocation) primarily due to the fact that St. Louis planned for an extra 100 million in funds from the NFL, saying the NFL would not do that. Then he turns around and offers this same extra 100 million to San Diego and Oakland to apply to new stadiums if they desire. Amazing.

One non-St. Louisian twittered that St. Louis put together a power point proposal and got an F - while Oakland decided not to turn in their homework and got extra credit. For those that are not aware the Rams had a 5 or so year period where they had the worst record in NFL history for that 5 year period of something like that.

The only ones that seemed to pay attention to the relocation guidelines were the relocation comittee, who voted 5-1 against the Kroenke proposal in favor of the Spanos proposal.

And I'd agree with Musial, genius is an overstatement, but he did manage to marry well.

ah grasshoppers, St. Louis is a baseball town. they don't need Kronk's team anyway. he's a fool worth 7.7 BILLION. a real moron it appears. by the way, his fortune is double that of his wifes. Kronk has Bob Mcnair in his hip pocket. McNair orchestrated the whole deal. all the owners want an excuse to go to Hollywood and schmooz anyway. Oakland and San Diego need to look elsewhere. just a matter of time before Jax Jaguars move to London. i'd look at Toronto and Mexico City. SAn Antonio/Austin would be perfect for a team but Jerry Jones and Bob Mcnair will never allow it to happen.

The issue is the league pretty much skirted over their own guidelines. As mentioned, it was essentially a forgone conclusion, with only 2 "No" votes (it was expected to be more). They went with the money, bought off, whatever, not even following their own rules.

It is a sad day, but as a native guy near LA, I hate it. Was never a Rams fan, and now we won't get the best games, we will get this crap on TV. Stan should know there's a reason why LA fans are called "fairweather". You won't get all that ticket money unless you put a winner on the field.

Stan Kroenke is an evil and rich man, but he still has a REALLY serious hair problem: http://deadspin.com/stan-kroenke-will-n ... 1752963781

If you are that rich, you'd think you could afford a true hair solution, OR be secure enough to go bald. Why not be proud about being bald? See, money does not buy everything -- plus, his soul is rotten and he will be eternally in Hell. What a liar and terrible person.

"he owns every pro team in Denver except for the Donkeys"

Almost. I wish he owned the Rockies!! But alas, the horrible Monfort brothers do and it shows in their pathetic records season after season...
