Feel free to make cuts early (as many or as few as you want). All teams will have one week after cards are released to finalize cuts and if you cut someone now and and want to change after cards come out, it is ok. Early cuts will just help rburgh in coming up with the available players list that he does each season more quickly.

Prospect Player rules:
1) The maximum number of prospects allowed on each roster is 10.
2) Prospects are not counted as part of the 30 man roster while they maintain their prospect status.
3) Owners control the rights of their prospects for an indefinite period but your team may never have more than 10 prospects at a time.
4) Prospects can be traded.
5) Prospects can be promoted to the major league roster at any time, provided there is roster space available. Once promoted all prospects lose their prospect status, and cannot be demoted back to prospect status.
6) Prospects must be promoted if they have been carded for more than one season. These prospects must be promoted, traded, or cut by the keeper/cut deadline

My reading of the rules with respect to prospects is that only the prospects who have been carded for more than one season will need to be promoted by the keeper/cut deadline per (6) above.

Prospects who have only been carded once need not be promoted by the keeper/cut deadline (5).

This is consistent with how the league has been run the past two years and is consistent with the rules above.

I think that I am essentially echoing rburgh's position. I know this may not have been what was intended by the Turtle when he wrote the rule but in my view requiring prospects who have been carded only once to be part of the 20 keepers would be a departure from our practices for the last 2 years and would require a rule change.
