Don't know what happened in the draft. it took ken boyer from me and gave him to the Yankees. I protected him. he does not have the Yankees on his card. it gave me sal bando, who does not even have the cardinals on his card. can you fix this Rosie?

boyer is a core 4. being on the bottom of my list, I still should have got him, right? his other year was with the mets. because they were not picked, did he somehow become available allowing the Yankees to draft him ahead of me? I thought core 4's were protected as long as they were on our list?

Sorry. That was my fault. I was supposed to click Clete Boyer and clicked Ken in error. Sambruins proposed a trade to me and I have accepted so he has Ken now. I have a waiver claim in for Clete and will drop Sal Bando.

I picked Gus Bell (who is core4 to the Reds) and then dropped him in the preseason. Does that mean I can never pick up Gus Bell in this season or in any future season?

I don't make the rules but I think the rule is to prevent you from dropping players on bad seasons only to pick them next game we play. My opinion is that since Bell is dropped before the season that does not put you in the penalty. If you pick Bell back up in the season and then drop him you cannot add him next game.

No. Preseason does not count toward your roster. I do think though that I'm going to amend the keeper rule regarding Core4 and 5 guys. I'll post my suggest in the league mail.

The following teams did not get picked:
Athletics, Cubs, Phillies, Colt 45's, Indians, Senators, Angels, Mets. That means that if you shared a player with those teams and only those teams you’ve won the SOM version of the lottery and have exclusive rights to them. Players that played for those teams only have now ceased to exist. Sorry Reggie, Catfish, Santo, Fergie, Seaver, Staub and Dick Allen...this league is not for you.

Our League Guidelines for the inaugural 60’s Season:

1. Every player on your roster must have at least 1 yr carded to your franchise throughout the season.
2. Salary cap $100M
3. Format is No DH
4. Waivers 5/10/20
5. Using the Superstar Sixties Mystery set
6. Team names, please use your franchises city and mascot
7. Pick the 60's Stadium of your franchise (only Braves have a choice)
8. Your Core4 that you want (you don't have to have them all) should be at the bottom of your auto draft list. If you leave a Core4 player off your auto draft list they can be picked up during waivers by the other carded club.
9. Also your auto draft should consist of a minimum of 5 Core5 players, at the bottom as well.
10. Minimum 3 season commit, ideally we play 3 seasons in each decade rolling with your chosen franchise the whole way.
11. Trades are allowed but all players involved must be carded to those franchises
12. Core5 = Players that all 5 yrs on their card are for one franchise. These players are assigned to their franchise and cannot be used by any other franchise.
13. No limit on roster size, SOM guidelines of 24-28
14. Core4 = Players that have 4 of the 5 yrs with one franchise. These players cannot be auto drafted by any other franchise but their Core4 franchise, BUT are available to be picked up or traded for by the other franchise they are carded to.

Now for the keeper side of the equation. I'd like to mirror real franchises as much as possible so 20 keepers per season. Also I always thought that the revolving door that exists in the Mystery leagues where you drop Yaz or Gibson on their 'worst' years was an unfortunate side effect to the format...so as a motivator to keep those guys, any Core5 or Core4 players dropped cannot be on your roster the next season.

I’ll post the league here tonight. Ask questions, better now than later.
Thanks for participating
Rosie

See above for reposting of guidelines. Only definite change is aligning the divisions to actual as best as possible. So far one suggestion for consideration is increase in cap to accommodate greater flexibility in roster moves. Please chime in on that when you post your 20 keepers. Go ahead and post them in this thread and I'll update the google spreadsheet. If anyone has any questions on availability of players let me know.

As a reminder the Pirates franchise is now available, so that means the following franchises are available to our replacement mgr or if anyone wants to change franchises. Again not recommended but allowed.
Pirates, Athletics, Cubs, Phillies, Colt 45's, Indians, Senators, Angels, Mets.

Any new managers that are interested in joining us I've posted the league below and happy to answer any questions...

Hey Rosie,

the core 4 & 5's will still be available if we do not protect them right? if so, is there a minimum number of them you have protect? do you have to protect 20 total players, or can it be less? just want to be sure. thanks

True - your 4s and 5s will still be your property at least through the Auto Draft (in the case of 4's). So I guess no minimum but all keepers on your list must have ended the season on your roster.
