Note on Palm actually getting a pick here/Fowldawg Corollary:

Palm thought he did not have a lower draft slot left when he had to promote Urias. He acquired a later 3rd round pick from me after the promo announcement was made.

The Fowldawg Corollary basically says you can't trade draft picks you don't have, so you have to drop at least as many players as required to cover the picks you have traded. Palm dealt me his 4th round FA pick, meaning he had to have at least 4 roster spots open - he had 5 to start the draft.

But due to other trades, prior to me reacquiring the 14th overall pick, Palm already had 4 picks in the 1st three rounds, meaning his 4th rounder, which I own, will be his last official pick slot, and that remains the case after getting my #36 overall as part of the deal for his #14 overall. So he was planning to use his last pick before the 4th rounder that I own to promote Urias.

However, in these cases it's similar to making a lopsided trade - Palm had 5 open roster slots but only 4 picks. Palm in any case would be allowed a makeup pick at the end of the draft to bring his roster to 40. He could use that pick to promote Urias. And I will update the draft to reflect that now.

I don't know about anyone else, but I would just have taken the "next man up" on my list (and I probably should have anyway) if Span had not been there. He just fills my "leadoff man vs. RHP" box and I will suffer with the CF-3 since I have defensive replacements available.

And I have you beat anyway, since Matt Kemp, who I cut, was taken in the first round.

If you are in any of my other leagues, I sent out the warning things would be different. My new job is not a desk job at all. I have very little time for web browsing, and what time I do have it's done on my phone.

I was in the same boat until the recent URL change removed the word "games". That caused the forums to be blocked. Not so now. Proxy is no longer my middle name.

Clarification needed:
1) Can I drop a 40-man roster player at any time to promote a prospect, or do I have to use a pick in the draft to promote?

NO. You need to do it prior to draft end. You can do it again at Supp time.

I don't think so. We had you with 6 picks going into the draft and from what I see you have made 4, so 2 picks left by my count.

I will be sending out an updated draft grid later tonight or tomorrow.

One was acquired in the last trade which would make at least 3. That would leave me with 39... that must be the upcoming Supp. pick I gained pre-dropped.

Well I finally got zinged by Niners & FD. I had Gilmartin next on my list but decided to stay with offense and take Wallace, the best overall hitter card left on the board by my estimate. And Rivero, my backup plan if Gilmartin was taken, went to FD.

Anyway, if you have a top end reverse LH RP you want to deal, let me know. Someone like a McGee, Cecil, Siegrist, Sipp etc.
