seeing how we blew past slots both days
what say you
to going to an hour limit between picks from 10 to 10 EST
so if say Buzz leads off and makes his pick at 10:05 AM est the next man up has until 11:05 or can be skipped?

probably should send out an email before you make it official....something stating when that will begin..... "...as of tomorrow, we will...." type of thing.

I don't like that idea because an unpredictable run can be punitive. I have been fortunate to be available so far for the most part during the draft. However, if a fast run of selections puts me on the one-hour clock hours before I expect to be up and I am unavailable (which can happen), several picks could be made before I would get a chance to ring in. With slots, at least there is a guarantee that I won't be skipped before a certain, known time. The "one hour from the last pick" concept assumes that everyone will be able to check the draft progress at least every hour, which I think is unrealistic.

In later rounds (post round 20, for example), I might change my tune. But even then, I would rather see half-hour scheduled slots than "an hour from the most recent pick."

If what we have going now is working fine, don't change it. If we run into trouble down with a particular roadblock or two, then consider changes. The early rounds are too critical to leave to the whims of unpredictable scheduling.

Yeah, sorry but I'm not gonna send a list of 20 proxies to cover my picks when I hit the sack in a few hours. We are doing fine as is, and nobody can afford to be screwed in a 24 team draft.

I still prefer a 2-hour clock. and as we get moving into the rounds 20-30 and some people lose interest (rounds not as important) a clock should help. Proxies of course alleviate all problems. :)

none of it really matters if we stay vigilant and keep emailing/texting people when they are up. We are going fine now and either method probably wouldn't come into play.

I hear ya big....sending that many proxies would be annoying.

I do think with a couple of us on update patrol with texts/emails of "you are up" this will just continue to roll smoothly.
