You know my favorite color guy of all time was Harmon Killebrew. He worked on A's TV broadcasts in the late 70s to early 80s. Super knowledgeable and he knew when and how much to talk unlike Tim McCarver and others. He was a natural. He was one of my favorites growing up in the 60s and I always heard he was a super nice guy which made me like him all the more. I know he also did some TV work for the Twins and I'm sure most Twins fans have a soft spot for Harmon.

"Is that guy, "Glanny" the real Doug Glanville? I think Glanville might have a brother who also plays.."

glanny is Doug's brother..Doug goes by DOUGGLANVILLE (all caps), and always drafts himself for his team!! ;)

I used to listen outdoors in the summer to John Miller do 'color' on the radio in the late 60's when the O's just started to be good. Barber, Estrada, and Bunker were very good pitchers who got hurt. Then Frank and Brooks and Boog and Blefary etc, Lots of fond memories. I lived just north of Boston and the Red Sox were dreadful, loved the O's, John Miller was a great voice coming in from the south side of the yard after 8:00 pm in the summer time. A great time in the 60's...

Wait....Jon Miller didn't start broadcasting for the Os until the early 80s.

If the broadcasters were saying things like, "Ain't the beer cold" and "Go to war, Miss Agnes!" you may have heard the also legendary Chuck Thompson and Bill O'Donnell. The Oriole radio station at that time had a strong signal, especially at night, as I recall.

Chuck Thompson got his baseball broadcasting start with Arch McDonald and Bob Wolff for the Washington Senators. It was McDonald who pioneered the "Go to war, Miss Agnes" quote. According to legend, Arch played a lot of golf for money. He called his putter "Miss Agnes," and whenever he faced a must-have putt, he'd mutter, "Go to war, Miss Agnes." Finally, he started saying that every time the pitiful Senators would start a rally. At least that's what my dad told me.

I'm fortunate to live in the bay area and listen to the Giants broadcasters, great group. One of my favorite Miller memories...

The Giants were in Colorado before they started to humidify the balls. Balls were flying out all over the place and it was late in the game. During an at bat Jon says..."the pitch to so and so is fouled off...AND ITS OUTTA HERE!" I remember nearly spitting out my beer. He just has such a smooth way about him.

Hey you guys are ALWAYS right, it's Chuck Thompson and Frank Messer, my bad. John Miller was nowhere in earshot in the late 60's

I knew those Atorvistatin pills I take are no good for me...
