cheap ichiro question...

anyone else notice the 7.14 card doesn't hit like it used to (80/100mil)?

i mean yeah, it still get around 200 hits, but it used to perform so much better.

Your observation intrigued me as I thought I was seeing some players stats improve or decline since the price changes about a year ago.
So I ran the figures for Ichiro’s cards @ $7.04M and $7.14M. Since there is limited data with the $7.14 card (36000 total AB versus 118000 with the $7.04 card) I am using only extreme pitchers and pitchers parks for the comparison.

$7.04 (older) Card:
Extreme Pitchers: iRC700 99.7 - 26992 AB - .314/.348/.414
Pitchers: iRC700 103.2 – 46114 AB - .323/.357/.419

$7.14 (current) Card:
Extreme Pitchers: iRC700 102.6 – 14107 AB - .320/.357/.420
Pitchers: iRC700 105.8 – 14518 AB - .327/.358/.431

So Ichiro is producing somewhat better since he received his $100,000 salary increase. I would bet his totals for the $7.14 card will become more in line with the $7.04 in the months ahead.
