Stroman went 27 innings. Why would he get carded?

You're free to make your own guesses if you want.

After Parker getting carded I think nothing is predictable....or logical for that matter. So I think you're probably right again, rburgh.

Josh Tomlin? I hope not he started 10 games and pitched 66 innings with a .83 WHIP a 3.02 E.R.A. and a balance of 6L.

Too many boards to go through to see if it's ever been discussed or brought up so if I'm repeating someone, my apologies.

In lieu of having an Unleashed set, wouldn't it be possible to add more injury chances to a card based on the number of plate appearances?

Parker, for example, somewhere in the 6-8 roll in each of his columns instead of just one. Since Keepers aren't affected by the salaries that are put out, it at least will give him and others more opportunity to get hurt and miss games.

As far as the regular leagues are concerned, they can keep the salaries high on guys that put up great numbers, but had fewer plate appearances. Then it's more of a select at your own risk since they'd get hurt more and take a good chunk of payroll.

Just a thought

They already nail everyone with less than 600 PA with 15 game injury risk.

Actually, what you describe with the additional injury risk is partially done via some options on the cdrom game. Forget exactly what it is called. Usage based fatigue or something where low PA batters and low IP pitchers exceeding their usage pace become more injury prone. But that would be applied to all cards, not just the unleashed and would require total repricing. Worst of all it would be another piece of black box code that so many here detest.

Fair enough...just throwing it out there. When my buddies and I played with the cards (years and years ago), we made those adjustments ourselves (that you mention in the cdrom version) for each player and then drafted out teams. Made for some interesting strategies!

There are other ways to resolve the over-usage. For example, I just joined an offline league where every player is limited to 100% of the actual AB or IP on the season. Every card in the set is able to play (even guys with 1 AB or 1 IP), but they are limited to their actual experience.

I bet it would not be that hard to code that limit into the online game as a league option...
