Yeah, my calculations were a little hasty and sloppy. And getting into the nitty-gritty details like an injured player only losing 38% of his PA may not be all that statistically significant but it is interesting. Is that due to the fact that a player necessarily has at least one-at bat that counts in order to get injured?

The average is the most probable, but the range can be wide. I have had a 5 injury player get 550 ab and 380 ab.

Interesting stuff... It would be cool for someone to put out a chart for all the 1-6 injury ratings...

I have a 5 injury guy backing up a 5 injury guy.... I hope it works out... I actually have several high risk injury players but as a result I am going with 16 non pitchers.

Using the above math from all the fellas above, how much would be wise to spend on your backup of a 5 injury rated player? So if the starter costs X should the backup cost 25% of X? Obviously it might vary...???
