Errors

PostWed Mar 09, 2016 7:08 am

Ok I guess I don't understand how the work. I always thought a player could only get one off the gbx or fbx fielding charts. But, I have guys with perfect X chances that have errors. How else do they get them?

Catches get them throwing on rolls that are not on the fielding chart.

Like if an outfielder throws at a guy trying to take an extra base? What about infielders? Groundball a, b, or c?

When you hold a runner at first base, and say the hitter is right-handed, the ss and the 1b drop 1 range (a ss-1 becomes a ss-2) and some other groundballs become singles (gb1# becomes singles). That don't result in errors, but it does result in players not making the play (as shown on the defensive statistical page). These results replace the traditional gbA+ becoming a single

If you have an outfielder with an e0, he won't drop a fly ball. But if the 20 sided dice goes the wrong way, he could throw a ball into the 3rd base dugout while trying to throw out an advancing base runner.

It won't happen often, but when it does it will happen 6 or 7 times.

if you want a player that will finish the season without any errors, Mickey Stanley. i've used him in 80 and below cap leagues and zero errors. not much offense though and he'll hit into dps but he frees up cap space. i bat him leadoff against lhps and last against rhps. one caveat though. you need a good fielding cheap 1b to sub for your regular or HAL will get goofy and use Stanley at first base?

An e0 outfielder should not have any fielding or throwing errors.
An e0 catcher should not have any fielding errors but could have throwing errors.
A T-0 catcher should not have any throwing errors but could have fielding errors.
An infielder should not have any errors outside of an x-roll.

FYI, this was my error-free theme team. 32 errors. Won a ring. Goal was to maximize power while minimizing errors. Range was not a primary concern, so I had a lot of guys with a defensive rating of like 3e1.

in ATG3/4/5?, john roseboro could play 3b at a 5/50+ rating and their was a glitch where HAL would put him at 3b late in games. it was so bad that the card went unused once it became public
