All P no D theme league anyone?

I...can you play anyone out of position thats a 2 somewhere else? With mykeedee talking about this, got me thinking that Hal will "manage" and likely just move em to those positions no?

Nels, I agree with you're concern, but I'm not experienced enough to know how HAL will handle that. We can state up front that no player has any defensive range better than a 3 at any position. That would help reduce the player pool as well, and i will need to drop a couple of players. I also agree that the salary cap should be lowered if we choose to go with 6 teams ($80M?). Hopefully that won't be an issue and we can get 12 to sign up. I will send you the league password.

I do have experience with no 'D' leagues. I checked a similar 80 million league. Gil Hodges played 3rd base and all his X chances were at 3rd. None at 1st where he is a 1.
Hank Aaron played 1st base where he had 56 X chances. He did have 3 chances in Right field where he is a 1.

Just so I understand, it looks like you are saying that HAL is not likely to override settings and move players on his own into positions where they are better fielders. It may happen, but it is not common. Is this correct? If so, then it shouldn't make much of a difference if a player has a range of 1, as long as he is used elsewhere. Although, we could still set a rule where no player has any range greater than 3, to be safe.

Thoughts?

What i did for a similar league was the following:

All my backups were the same Range or worse. I made sure I listed them in my lineups.
Under team strategy I left the defensive subs section blank.
Under hitter preferences I left 'rem. 4 def sub' blank for all hitters.

Perfect. Now we just need 5 more people to sign up. Any ideas on how to do that?

Open to other constraints or rules. Just want something fun and different. I'll set up a league if I get a few people interested.

I think with a $120M cap, +1 or Worse arms at catcher PLUS outfield is going to make it MIGHTY tough for the half of owners that get aced out of the PRIZES like Piazza, Kiner, Arky etc.

I would recommend changing to no MINUS arms at catcher or in outfield.....Allowing for ZERO arms in outfield and catcher make it more appealing for the higher cap of $120....as is I'm afraid that if you have a BAD draft, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to recover by eliminating all of the quality ZERO arms at catcher and outfield from the waivers field ....after all catchers and outfielders have to be 3's and 4's as is, correct?
