.833 OPS, homer every 22 AB's, 1(-3) at all 3 OF pos and a left hand stick compared to all other top CF hitting right. People stopped looking at BA in 1990 but they still post it for us old folks that remember sat game of the week and Monday night baseball.
Knowing the others in your division sure helps with the FA draft. But I couldnt pass Trout no matter who I was up against.

I still get sucked into the magic of batting .300. .280 is quickly forgotten.

Roger Maris never hit .300 and hit .275 only twice. Two time league MVP. I'm sure there are many more examples.

should be competitive.....Boston 'killer B's left out..Betts, Bradley, Bogy, Buch

why in the world is Bradley, a .249 hitter, so expensive?


and those guys are "aggravating mosquitoes" compared to the original "Killer B's" - Bagwell, Biggio, and Berkman

Dont forget Bell, Bogar and Berry as starters on the '97 Central Division Champs. Derek Bell was part of the Big 3 Killer B's before Berkman arrived

diff between .250 and .300 is about ONE extra hit every 2 series (5-6 games). So OPS, fielding, arm and speed become much bigger factors then BA.....and injury possibility of course
