I counted 15-17 competitive teams with the big free agents. Wash should be really comp when u add in FA's with Harper, Espinoza, Escobar, Robinson who is under priced and your entire pitching staff is playable. The FA market is loaded with good players where u need them.
If we had not started the FA draft yet I would trade Hou and take Wash. Not that I'm unhappy with the A$tros. Den Dekker and Span (when not injured) will light up all the righty pitching in the west. Most teams will have a lot of salary wasted on their bench to fill the $90 mill cap. Every team has a decent shot if they draft FA's wisely.

Worry about filling holes not about if your total salary is comparable. A $3 million FA may be worth $6 to you and not even wanted by someone else.

Maybe, maybe not. 9 Nats hitters have an injury rating 2 or worse. As I said I am a strat rookie but that seems like too many. They are "under priced" for a reason IMO. Upgrading an injury prone player that still draws a decent salary is my challenge reaching the CAP. I am going to be amazed if I can field $85 mil after draft. Depends on one's definition of competitive I guess.

Hope you don't confuse this with crying. I chose my own franchise. I could have done better IMO. I just assumed it would be easy to hit $90M and I don't think that is reality. Whether there are actually 12+ competitive possibilities will have to play out. I have a good sense of humor and will learn in any event. Looking forward to the season.
