The Toronto team is the best-suited franchise for this league - it's not even a debate. The list below is the total salaries by franchise in the regular set. Even with a conventional draft, the Blue Jays still would have had a decided advantage; they simply have the best arsenal of talent. It's up to all of us to maximize the talent on each of our teams to win as many games as possible. IMO, no need to change any rules now for this league. All suggestions for the next league are most welcomed, but I think that any team can win if the teams are properly built. (At least I hope so - I'm in a division with the Jays). :)

I like your franchise theme a lot. Fact is MLB will always have 2-4 teams clearly superior to the rest of league. 12 teams that are pretty close is never ever going to happen. The '15 World Series teams should be incredible with $25M in FA improvements. The bottom franchises need most of that money just to fill gaping holes with rosters of high injury players. Not sure if Cards had injured position players but you may be in the same fix.

Just pay attention to how the 5-12 draft teams perform, and see if any other teams than mine can't meet the $90mil CAP. Inability to do that is a likely fail before it even starts.

That salary chart tells me I will still be well short of the Jays starting point after I add my $25M. Half the MLB teams could not meet $90M CAP even after they add FA money. Because the are forced to drop players due to roster size limits right?

This list here is the top 21 Washington Nationals and a plug of $25M for the five free agents. In total, 26 players totaling over $90M...need to be prudent, but I believe that any team can be a playoff team in this league format.

Harper, Bryce 12,380,000
Scherzer, Max 7,110,000
Espinosa, Danny 3,970,000
Escobar, Yunel 3,520,000
Strasburg, Stephen 3,460,000
Rivero, Felipe 3,260,000
Span, Denard 2,760,000
Zimmerman, Ryan 2,740,000
Den Dekker, Matt 2,670,000
Thornton, Matt 2,640,000
Papelbon, Jonathan 2,530,000
Zimmermann, Jordan 2,430,000
Storen, Drew 2,390,000
Gonzalez, Gio 2,280,000
Ross, Joe 2,140,000
Rendon, Anthony 2,130,000
Robinson, Clint 2,080,000
Janssen, Casey 1,690,000
Taylor, Michael 1,540,000
Werth, Jayson 1,080,000
Desmond, Ian 990,000
Five Free Agents 25,000,000

90,790,000 - TOTAL for 26 players

I was in THREE 2014 leagues with very similar rules. The Oakland Athletics won two of the three leagues (once by me) and in the 3rd league the owner made some poor roster choices and he finished 4th in his division. I believe that this league will be competitive. Don't worry about the other teams - maximize your team and cover up as many weaknesses as possible... have fun with it.

I failed to noticed nine of the NATs hitters have injury ratings 2 or worse. I drafted too quickly when the teams I wanted disappeared. That was a HUGE fail. I will have fun, but I know I am doomed. :D I am not ADDING $25M as I have to replace with much of the money. A near 30 man roster is not beneficial. If my DH Votto hits 57 HRs then we'll talk lol.
