Buzz - promotions are not allowed once the FA draft has started. We discussed this before the draft on the forums, although the rules have not yet been adjusted in the GoogleDoc to make this clear. Others made their roster decisions based on this interpretation, so I do not believe it is fair to allow promotions at this time.

I looked at the league rules on the google doc, and it looks like I can promote my prospects "at any time" as long as I have roster space to do so.

So, is it possible for me to declare my "20 man roster" without any prospect promotions, and then just draft only 7 players in the free agent draft, and promote 3 prospects either at the beginning of the free agent draft, or at the end of the free agent draft, or after my 7th free agent draft pick? Or all of the above?

Thanks - it will make a big difference for me this year, in terms of reducing the number of roster cuts that I will have to make to get down to 20 (i.e. while keeping the prospects just on the prospect list).

The answer is no. This is why I voted NO in the other league as well. I see this as roster manipulation to prevent you from making cuts. The 20 is there for a reason -- to open up the free agent pool for other teams to improve. If you do this it will lesson the already slim pool by 3 players and you will benefit greatly from it (you get to keep 23 and draft 7 vs. 20 and 10, which is HUGE when you consider how slim rounds 7 to 10 are). I would love to do this too and keep Javier Baez down, but it is "gaming" the system and is not allowed.

Does this mean I cant play him at all this year? I see a couple of conflicting rules with the addition of the new rule.
