Ok guys

Updated spreadsheet for us.

Remember we can drop down to 15, but only Terry (23), Boblues (22), Ghost (24), Coachteel (21), Steve (27), myself (22), Cal (22) and Tim (22) will have to make cuts down to at least 20. Everybody else is already at 20 or below.

Drop thread is posted here:

If you're under 20 for your roster and won't be making cuts, let us know by posting "No cuts" in the Drop Thread

I know there has been conversation in other AL/NL keeper leagues about having to drop no-carded players. It is really frustrating when you have a player for a couple of years and he gets injured and you have to let him go.

We could think about allowing us to keep a no-carded player that is still in the AL. It wouldn't be an extra player- he would take up a roster spot. An example would be Trout getting hurt and not receiving a card. The manager would lose him for the next 10-12 years. Anyway, if we could look at it before injuries start. This year would be great ( Darvish for me), but if not this year, then in the future. Just some thoughts.

Agreed Terry...we've all had someone like that in either o both leagues. Jose Iglesias for me a couple seasons ago and others as well.

Happy to revisit it as it's been brought up before, but with not much fanfare.

I would like to see something like 1 roster exception for uncarded players. (30 active + 1 uncarded = roster size of 31). Still keeping the total number of draft picks, but losing a 5th round pick, and gaining a supplemental pick at the end of the last round of the FA pick. Thus, keeping your active roster at 30. Supplemental draft order would be the same as in the spring FA draft.

It would be a slight penalty for keeping an uncarded player, but not a total loss with the supplemental pick. And, the rest of the league, would get a slight bump in draft position(s) to be determined by the total number of managers keeping uncarded players.

I said 5th round, basically just cause its in the middle, and not a total detriment to keeping somebody uncarded. Could be as high as 3rd round I guess, but not sure how many managers would sacrifice a 3rd round pick. Or, it could be a 7th round pick, but than every injured player would be kept...

And, if you don't have a 5th round pick cause of trades (should only be a problem this year), then the pick lost would be your next highest draft pick. ie, you traded your 4th and 5th round picks, but you really want to keep Pollock than you might be glad to give up your 3rd round pick...

I'd be all for keeping it simple... allow teams to keep any AL players that become non-carded as part of their post-cut 20-man roster.

Several guys stand to lose keeper quality players, like Darvish, Skaggs and Singleton, this year ... I would not be opposed to voting on a rule change prior to making this year's cuts final.

That's every year not just this year guys. It gets brought up by guys over the years that will lose a "quality" guy due to how the league was created. I, myself brought it up in the past since I didn't want to lose Jose Iglesias and other guys didn't want to lose players.

As I said, I'm not opposed at all to it, but it wouldn't take effect until next season if it were to pass once voted on. Wasn't happy when I had to let Iglesias go, but it is what we signed up for.
