I went with live draft, but a live draft is very much dependent on a prior agreement by all that the timing of the draft works. Typically with a lice draft, someone can just pass on the league if the timing isn't going to work, but that wouldn't be the case here. For example, someone mentioned concluding the draft on Monday. Drafts typically don't have clocks during the weekend because people are away from the computer. I know I will be away during the weekend of the 10th-12th.

If scheduling a draft is going to be too daunting, I'd be fine with changing my pick from live to autodraft. But I'll wait to hear what others have to say.

I also voted for a live draft, and would love to get a few rounds in before auto-drafting the rest. But only if people are available—if all the managers managers aren't able to draft live, than its a non-starter.

I'll agree to any format even it means that we play sooner. I think the people who want a live draft really want a live draft. So maybe if everyone is agreeable just start drafting now. Also, flexible on unique leagues which I think are split @ 5-7.

Why don't we have a live draft with a target end date of Friday June 10. We need to end on an even round so it's fair for everyone. So after June 10 we finish the live draft at the end of the next even round. Then we all load teams (using the autodraft to complete the rosters) by Friday June 17 so we start the season Monday June 20...

I say start the 60s live draft now. No stadium restriction is a majority. I'm ready with my pick.

Apologies to those who feel so strongly for a live draft, but I vote for Autodraft, and would have a very hard time committing to a live draft timeframe. The tournament has been Autodraft throughout, and I don't think that needs to be or should be changed just for the finals league. Maybe the tournament leader should get to pick ?

I agree with both sphilipp and hallerose. The unique stadium was voted down 7 no to 5 yes. So, it appears to be settled, and I was wrong to bring it up. We seem to have a majority for a limited time message board draft that ends on Friday, June 10, plus any picks needed so the message board draft ends on an even number of rounds. Lee's argument that the tournament has been autodraft throughout is not a strong argument since the live v autodraft vote is a traditional feature of the tournament - last year, for example, we held a message board draft and I learned a lot about good players in the 80s set.

Given that we have a majority for a limited time live draft (ending June 10 has been reasonably proposed) - does anyone absolutely refuse to participate in a message board draft?

The last 4 mystery tournament finals have all been live drafts, despite there having been only auto leagues in the qualifying tourneys. I think the live draft requires more skill (and less luck) than an auto league, and it should be fun and interesting to test our skills against the top 12 managers in the tourney.
