Jeep's 5X5 Franchise League
Rules Note: some rules have been added or edited since I originally posted this
2015 unleashed set/experienced Owners only please
5 Round Live Draft with first four Rounds serpentine
You're picking a Franchise in Round 1; Rounds 2-4 you draft three players from any of the non-picked 18 teams
$90mil cap; 5% Drop Penalty throughout
DH/Random Divisions
Frenzy
No new injury
Team name should fit your Franchise, but not necesarrily exact
Use your Franchise's Park,,ah with one exception (see below)
Salary cap for all players picked outside of your franchise is $25mil
After 4 Rounds, one 5X5 Round
No trading of Franchise players, but Non-Franchise players can be traded. Must be a 1on1 trade, and it will not effect the 3 transaction limit below
Franchise players can be added/dropped at any time with no limits
Note: It is an Owner's responsibility to keep a running total of non-franchise players making sure you spend no more than the $25mil max for these players. Note: Those Owners who picked two players in Round 5 "may" have one extra FA than those that didn't. You may Own no more than the number you picked in Rounds 2-5. For example, those Owners who made 4 FA picks cannot own MORE than four after the autodraft. If you stole a Franchise pick in Round 5, it is allowable to drop and replace with a FA later. But, not someone's franchise player of course.
5X5 Round Rule:
* First off the 5X5 Round is a completely different order than the first 4 Rounds. A new randomizer will be done after Round 4.
* EachOwner will have 5 choices for their Round 5 pick (hence 5X5) Choices below:
1 - You can choose to forfeit your pick. Maybe you want to use your $25mil on three players and thus forego this pick altogether.
2 - You can simply draft one more player, adhering to the $25mil max.
3 - You can draft two more players (to be picked simultaneously) You still have to adhere to the 25mil max.
4 - Option to change your park. You can choose a park from one of the 18 non-picked franchises and forego your Franchise's park altogether. Parks can't be duplicated.
5 - Steal a Pick. You may steal a player from one of the other 11 Owners' Franchise. Three things: 1 - The max salary of a stolen Franchise player is $5mil. There is no max for a draft pick player stolen in Rounds 2-4. 2 - you still must adhere to the 25mil max for your non-franchise players. and 3 - if you steal a pick you must give up rights to one of your own franchise players of 1/2 the stolen player's salary, announced at time of pick. For example: You steal a player whose salary is 5mil. You would have to drop one of your own Franchise players that's at least 2.5mil in salary. And, that dropped player cannot be owned by anyone. Other notes regarding steal pick: No Owner can have more than one player stolen. A stolen player cannot be restolen. Stolen player can be any player from an Owner's Franchise no more than 5mil, or any of their draft picks, regardless of price. The salary of a lost draft pick (not a franchise player) stolen from you doesn't count on your running total of $25mil max.
Rules regarding Players from the 18 Non-picked Franchises:
The only time you can acquire one of these players is if you drop a non-franchise player at the same time. You may do this throughout the pre-season with no limits. Again, it must be a non-franchise player you're dropping. After the season starts, you are limited to a max of 3 of these 1on1 transactions. Sidenote: Allowing these transactions will help a team that may have had a player stolen late in Round 5 of the player draft. Trades of non-Franchise player(s) do not count on this 3 player max transaction limit.
* Please don't sign up if you have committments during the day that don't allow you to check in. I'm assigning a 3 hour time limit betw 10am to Midnight EDT. I'm going to give everyone one freebie - You can have one violation - IOW you won't be skipped on the first time violation, but you will be skipped after that. No clock 1st Round.
* This is the first time for this theme. The Commish (yours truly) may tweak or change rules as we progress through the draft, if necessary. I will of course be as fair as possible with any rulings.
