More Dumb Hal Ball

PostMon Jun 27, 2016 10:55 am

More great decisions by Hal
Down by 1 run in the 9th
BOTTOM OF INNING 9
0 Y.Berra 4-5 Double (CF) b-2 F9
0 2 C.Biggio 3-4 Ground Out (SS) b-0 F9
1 2 R.Henderson 4-11 Fly Out (RF) Double Play 2-o b-0 fly(RF)x F9

Ordonez is in RF, so it's not like he is trying for a useless base against a crappy throwing arm.

Actually what Hackra said makes sense. Every time someone comes up with a dumb HAL there can be a story line. Pitchers arms hurt, the bull pen is tired, base running mistakes. It actually makes it more realistic. I personally dont like stealing with a nine run lead but maybe we dont know about the bad blood(or for that matter the fight that occured because of the steal). My main peeve is HAL leaving mediocre relievers in after they are about to blow a big lead but frankly I usually find that my settings are wrong or my three man bull pen is overworked.

I get it. We put our heart and souls into these teams and a stupid, seemingly fixable event happens that costs us a game.Overall HAL does pretty dang good for a computer program and when he fouls up-imagination should kick in. 8-)

I agree with that one. I hate it when I'm up by 5 or 6 and Hal brings in a scrub to mop up.
I only want my mop in the game when I'm down big.
