Catcher Mike Gonzalez was the only kid not selected to play on a team, so I felt bad for him and offered him a coaching gig. As it turns out, he was a natural pick in that role:

He played in MLB for parts of 17 seasons, as a good-fielding catcher -- and ironically appears to be the one who coined the phrase "good field, no hit" in a 4-word scouting report that he wired back after watching someone else play
He was also a player and later a long-time playing manager for the Habana club in the Cuban league, where his teams won 13 titles between 1918-19 and 1952-53.
Mike will be coaching 3rd base for me, since I already promised the 1st base coaching job to Charley Pride, the legendary country singer. He only turned to a singing career after his pitching one in the NeL and the minors failed to work out:
