G-man (Oak.)

G-man - good question and it was briefly addressed in this ever-lengthening thread (see p.6). Bernie asked the question and I replied that personally I had no problem with FA's being traded but not franchise players unless
(as Bernie suggested) the players in question are carded for both teams. There were not other replies either way but the issue is still open for comment!

I would be in favor of proscribing trades. I think it keeps it simpler and with supplemental rounds and free agency I think we have sufficient flexibility. Of course, I won't go off and cry if we go the other way. (I'll leave the crying for my morning glimpse of how my current teams are performing!)

Trades are seldom made, so it is unlikely that allowing trades will have much impact on the franchise theme. I agree that trades should be limited. I think limiting trades to free agent for free agent or players carded to the two teams involved in the trade will preserve the original franchise theme. - Bernie
