That is one of the great things about strat whether board game or cdrom or online. It is not just numbers and stats. The cards allow you to get a visual of what goes in to those stats and what made a great player great. And as you look at the cards while putting a team together the old memories of when you played the board game will filter back in.
It will be that tie in that will hook you. It will be the slight deviations from the pure board game and that emperor like control that will frustrate you the most.
This is what I always tell the newbies and the burned out vets. Strat is a great game. It has some flaws. If you can look past the flaws your can sit back, buckle your seat belt, and get ready for a great ride with lots of fun and amusement.
I compare it to syfy where you have to get past that suspension of didbelief to really enjoy a star wars movie or whatever. And you will have to get past a few flaws or perceived flaws to enjoy strat. But if you can get ready for years of one blast of a good time.
Welcome to the game. Anything we can do to help you have fun (short of something that costs me money
) holler and betting the old timers will line up to help.
