Chaos is created by a first come first served process. We all joke that a camel is a horse designed by a committee, but the fact is that most group efforts generate solid results. I never intended my list to be anything more than a starting point for a reasoned discussion on the dead ball era. I hope that some of the others volunteering for other eras can do the same thing, after which I will be glad to contribute.

And I strongly believe that the process should have structure. We have multiple groups here with different interests, and none should be slighted. The fact is that our last group of card additions was pretty underwhelming.

People here (I'm talking about YOU Salty) complain that there are high value cards out there that we haven't seen yet, and then when I post a list of 20 dead ball cards that would nearly all interest the $200 million and live draft guys, there are complaints that I am trying to hijack the process.

And by the way, I am on board with most of Druid's comments on my list. One that he objected to that I think should be considered is the McGraw card I cited. He was a great player, a better manager, and deserves to have his best card included in the set.

I also think Druid is wrong about Bill Lange, who was a far more talented player than Kip Selbach or John Titus. Lange was a big fan favorite in Chicago for a few years. Bill James has described Lange as “probably the greatest all-around athlete to play major-league baseball in the 19th century,”

He retired to marry the daughter of a wealthy man who would not tolerate a ballplayer for a son-in-law, although his rowdy lifestyle (he, Babe Ruth, and Mickey Mantle were peas from the same pod) and playing style (he is reported to have run through a (wooden) fence to catch a fly ball hit by Kip Selbach) caused him to miss a lot of playing time and probably affected his performance.

This is only my personal preference, but I really don't care too much for the dead ball era. I certainly don't enjoy any of the pre 1900 guys

I have seen a lot of cards nominated and selected and then...never used. Who cares about so-and-so's best season if no one ever uses it?

The player cards added for the Expos and Mariners included some cards that will never get used..ever!

I play ATG occasionally. Some play exclusively. Maybe there should be a weighted vote favouring those users that play a ton of ATG?

My preferences:
1. Best seasons of any missing hall of famers
2. Improve franchises that lack full rosters
3. Improve franchises that have one era and lack usuable players at many positions ( bias pick- Blue Jays)!
4. Put a cap on players that already have 3 or more cards if all the cards are for one franchise

Just wondering who Rosie might be since I don't recall ever being in a league with such a person and what his ATG creds are to be running this latest dog and pony show to get us a few grossly overdue new cards. Consider the three hours I wasted to create my input on the deadball cards revoked since although I signed up per the protocol, I would be getting too much input and so have to drop out of two eras not to mention the Mets and Brewers lists per Rosie's latest inspired directive.

Looks to me like Rosie is just another SOM shill spearheading the latest SOM fly by the seat of the pants PR clusterf__k.

I'm seriously on the absolute verge of just packing it in permanently with all things SOM.

You nailed it. New SOM Marketing Director, replacing Adam Rosen is Dan Rozel. It is beginning to get insulting. After over 500 teams, I am done. 1 active team, giving up on the online game. At $20 per team average spend, to continue to invest in the online game is a lost cause.

Do not know Rosie2167 personally but have been in a Mystery League he organized (possibly have been in other leagues with him as well). He seems to have put in a lot of work to make that Mystery League run well. While anyone is free to disagree with the process he organized for selecting new ATG cards, believe it is unfair to consider him a "shill." Think he is someone who enjoys Strat baseball and is trying to make the ATG new card selection process better.

All the volunteers will be putting in plenty of time to present what they think the best cards are, it would be very disappointing, but not unexpected, for SOM to screw it up and take way to long to execute.

Thanks again gents, I hope SOM treats your work with the attention it deserves.

Appreciate the support. We will do everything possible to collapse this process.

A continued history of under promising and under delivering from the online game. Unless you work for Glen Head, good luck making any of this happen. The last big hype was about a logo for goodness sakes. Laughable. What ever happenned to the promise of new cards every couple months? Will also give strong odds against the 82 card set launching before December .

You're right, very inappropriate of me to suggest that the similar names were more than just a coincidence. Still checking out, after $10k spent over the years, very dissatisfied with how the online game treats the community and customers. Cheers to the new logo, inaccurate charts, starting pitchers on 1 day rest, new drop button, broken Hal logic, results that don't match cards/ dice rolls, and consistent failure delivering on published upgrades.

Robert,

Thanks for the information. It was very interesting. So if you are correct, what we have here is the infamous SOM lack of transparency taken to a deliberately deceptive new low. It wouldn't ever occur to this company to be forthright and show even a modicum of respect to its' customers. Garcia is infamous by now for making promises and then flagrantly ignoring them. Now we have the new marketing director impersonating a community member?
