METS Needs (not many, covered at most positions) HOWARD JOHNSON 1989 Maybe another C in 1996 Todd Hundley SPs-- lots of Seavers and Goodens, maybe 1998 Al Leiter or 1992 Sid Fernandez
1/ Roger McDowell. 1985 season. Would give us the trifecta of his first three years. Part of that renaissance of the Mets in the mid-80s (what a glorious time to live in NYC). http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/837854/1680/1/80 A 1L (better balanced than what we have). No BPhr versus lefties.
2/ Roger Cedeno. 1999 season. Plays multiple positions poorly, but has lots of speed. Switch-hitter (4R). http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/3649/1999/1/1999 High OBA (.396), no GIDP. Would make an interesting platoon partner at DH or LF in lower caps.
