I'd encourage the ambassadors to point out the holes of each franchise to help focus the debates.

Phillies POST & EXP
EXP-better SPs! There are 4 Carlton cards, one Halladay, then nothing. Difficult to form a rotation. 08 Hamels, 11 Cliff Lee
EXP-that 87 Bedrosian
EXP-better 2b options, is 2008 Utley a 2?
EXP-better CF options--maybe 76 Maddox
POST-need best Robin Roberts card (1953), a true ace of the 50s
POST-need a better 1b
POST-No usable 2b
POST-No usable SS

Phillies PRE needs
SPs are weak, partly the Phillies fault. 1934 Curt Davis, 1940 Hugh 'Losing Pitcher' Mulcahy, 1940 Kirby Higbe, 1931 Ray Benge....none great, but if we want to attempt to bolster Pre Phillies SP sometime
SS--Bartell can hit but is a 3, does anyone know of a decent Phillies offensive year for him where he's a 2? Maybe 1930 or 1934? 1930 Tommy Thevenow, no idea what his defense is.....
CF--1924 Cy Williams would be a great addition to Phillies PRE
1925 George Harper CF/OF

Early thoughts on Phillie additions:

1/ Otto Knabe. 1912 season. Better offensively than the card we have. And the DB Phillies could use help at 2B. Lots of walks.

2/ Richie Ashburn. 1954 season. I know you're thinking...a fifth card?! He could be his own mystery league player. The 54 season may not be as overwhelming as the 55 season (less power), but 125 walks are nothing to be sneezed at (a .441 OBP). Only 3 GIDPs. And normally his best defensive season.

3/ Steve Bedrosian. 1987 season. Cy Young. Probably not going to be a game-changer, but just for historical accuracy, an absolute necessity. His card: http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/830708/1680/1/80
