How is Alfonso Soriano not getting any love?

So clearly the Yankees don't have alot of needs, but dang, if we're talking best players (especially who've played more than 5 seasons) he's WAAAAAAAY up there and would fall in a crazy interesting price point.

'02 Soriano all the way.

-40/40 demigod
-.300 hitter to go with the worst walk rate around
-bulletproof i assume
-defensive conondrum at a crazy price point to rival any DaveEs Johnson.

Leave him to the Expansion Committee to find a usable card at a position he won't kill you. He'll be a 2b for Yankees and a bad one at that, correct? He played LF for Cubs etc

In fact, his 2006 Nationals season he posted his best OPS+, along with 46 HR while butchering LF, as opposed to butchering 2b. I'm going on memory, not any fielding stats, but a 2002 Soriano who is, let's say, a 4 at 2b, is not gonna get used except as a DH? Someone with access to FLD ratings could enlighten.

Soriano was a 3e24 @ 2B for the Yanks in 2002

I'm thinking for the Yankees the following.

1997 Andy Pettitte: http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/3116/1690/1/90 No card in set. Needs representation.

1997 Tino Martinez: Slash Line - .296/.371/.577 No card.

1988 Dave Winfield: I prefer it over the 1982 season. http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/843076/1680/1/80

1977 Thurman Munson: Change of heart from the 1973 card. http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/738637/1670/1/70

2004 Hideki Matsui: Slash Line - .298/.390/.522

Thoughs here Ambassadors?

And how many people use the current Utley or the '49 0r '53 Jackie Robinson at 2b in anything? Like I say, my opinion, let Expansion Committee see what we can do with his 06 Nationals card in LF.

I'm not an Ambassador, but if we're gonna give somebody a 3rd card, why not give the 75 Hunter who doesn't have a Yankee card already? Besides Guidry, I think the EXP Yankees could use a strong RHP rather than another Winfield.

I heard somebody just cite getting a guy a card-----a yankee card. I guess that was Andy and he likes OBP :D

What you mention about Soriano Andy, is the appeal to me. We all know people want different things from cards but INTERESTING cards that heck can see successful play are whats exciting to me. If '02 Soriano is 3.68 mil, I think dudes are seriously considering him. Price is everything and

1. ATG player (traded for A-Rod, cultural/frantasy stud) with NO CARD NO CARD NO CARD NO CARD
2. over 900 Extra base hits to go along with his .500 SLG and 289 steals
3. Epitomized the 40/40 guy along with the top-of order speed vs obp debate oh, and defense vs off
4. I do yell about make believe numbers, but c'mon!!! 40/40 Sori!!! Plus, he did it.

I think players who were integral to baseball history that DON'T have cards should be the utmost priority. Every thing else comes after, no offense especially for the Yanks. Dang, I know I'm talking myself into a corner and Pettitte and others don't have cards and there's only so many spots. Just with all these threads and dispirate thoughts, feels no one hears the thoght. Oh, and '02 may be a huge year with arbitrary best BA and stuff for Sori, but it really just what he does. '02 seems more apprpriate than every one elses bonkers year.

Seems Nels is pretty passionate about a Soriano card. Before we close the books on him please bat it around one more time, if not a Yankee what about his 1 season with Washington? He was a damn fine offensive player and I know I've played many a 4 in LF before.
