Giants EXP & POST needs
EXP-SP depth, nothing after Lincecum & that one Marichal card--2003 Jason Schmidt should be a yes, Krukow, Knepper?
EXP-Giants need a good CF option
POST-maybe a better SP, Best Maglie (1954) or Antonelli (1954) cards?
POST-more RP
POST-Whitey Lockman played for Giants for 13 years and is not even in the set

CF EXP seem to have a lot of reused or pre really good guys - Maddox 73 (2 PHI cards), Gladden 84 (1 MIN), Butler 88 (1 BRV, 2 DOD), Grissom 2003 (2 EXP)

Giant possibles for next round of voting:

1/ Harry Danning. 1939 season. His best offensive year (122 ops+), 16 homers, good defense. I know, he already has three cards, but this guy was consistently in the MVP voting for 5 straight years. Probably a 3L.

2/ Willie Mays. 1959 season. Okay, we already have 5 of his cards. Shouldn't we have them all?! This man IS baseball. 43 doubles (his highest ever), led the league in steals, A 3L? 156 OPS+. Might be a more reasonable price, thus allowing non-high cap players access to the Say Hey Kid.

3/ Jim Davenport. http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/32787/1660/1/60 Playable at 3B, 2B, SS. A 2 injury (some of us aren't put off by that). A more patient hitter than his '58 card.

so for our Giant nominees...

Schmidt and Krukow are already in the list. Other pitchers, would anyone rank them any differently? Need one
1. 78 Blue 1.17, 18-10 no current Giants card
2. 93 Burkett 1.14 22-7, 4th in CY, better card
3. 76 John Montefusco, SP, 1 card, 1.17 16-14
4. 78 Halicki 1.06 9-10 BC
5. 54 Antonelli 1.17, 21-7 looks slightly better more balanced than 56?
6. 2012 Cain 1.04 16-5, no card in set
7. 78 Knepper 1.16 17-11, no current Giants card

Hitters
1. 48 Lockman, 1B/LF 815OPS, no card
2. 38 Ott, 3B option hitting similar to other cards
3. 84 Gladden, CF 857OPS, only 1 card with MIN
4. 59 Mays (see bill's notes)
5. 73 Maddox CF, 810 OPS 2 cards but both with PHI
6. 67 Davenport (see bill's notes)
7. 2011 Aurillia SS 941 OPS
8. 39 Danning C 838OPS (see bill's notes)

Thoughts? Others?

1950 Jim Hearn -- i abused this card in a replay using as a super reliever, would love to do the same in ATG
1947 Johnny Mize -- Had some of his best years in NY, would be good to give him a giants card; especially since the other two dont get used a lot
2010 Aubrey Huff -- Probably should have a ATG card, solid season on a world series winning team

good suggestions. Huff deserves a card but it might be a shame adding him as a Giant before a Ray.

First nomination I've heard for Mize as a Giant, good one.

Hearn's story is interesting. In 1950 the Giants picked him up on waivers from the Cardinals after 6 relief appearances and a 10.00 ERA. He then goes on to post a 11-3 record across 16 starts, oh and he had a 0.880 whip, 11 CG's and 5 shutouts! Is he the pitchers version of Gates Brown??

My current ranking, poke at it and provide your opinions, need one from each list. I honestly don't know what to do with Hearn's 1950 suggestion.

Schmidt and Krukow are already in the list.
Pitchers
1. 78 Blue 1.17, 18-10 no current Giants card
2. 93 Burkett 1.14 22-7, 4th in CY, better card
3. 76 John Montefusco, SP, 1 card, 1.17 16-14
4. 78 Halicki 1.06 9-10 BC
5. 54 Antonelli 1.17, 21-7 looks slightly better more balanced than 56?
6. 2012 Cain 1.04 16-5, no card in set
7. 78 Knepper 1.16 17-11, no current Giants card

Hitters
1. 48 Lockman, 1B/LF 815OPS, no card
2. 38 Ott, 3B option hitting similar to other cards
3. 47 Mize, 1B no current Giants card
4. 84 Gladden, CF 857OPS, only 1 card with MIN
5. 59 Mays (see bill's notes)
6. 73 Maddox CF, 810 OPS 2 cards but both with PHI
7. 67 Davenport (see bill's notes)
8. 2011 Aurillia SS 941 OPS
9. 39 Danning C 838OPS (see bill's notes)
10. 2010 Huff, 1B only ranked here because a Ray card should come first IMO

Iron Mike Tiernan had a 12 year career with a lifetime OPS+ of 138. His 1896 season with .369 .452 .516 is more worthy of inclusion than any of the names on the above list IMHO.

Ditto for George Davis, a HOF SS whose prime years are not close to being represented by his current card. His 1893, 1894 and 1897 seasons all saw him hit .350+. Probably his 1897 card would be best as he played 3b primarily the other two seasons.
