Leaving this league open to the public without a password could result in this happening.

Yes, this is also a good consideration. Thank you for bringing this up.

I sent an email to Support last week to find out what recourse we would have in the event that a manager either willfully or ignorantly disregarded the league rules. In such an event they assured me that they could remedy the situation by various means…the most likely course of action would be to refund all credits and allow for the recreation of the league. They could also block and/or remove the offending manager from the recreation of the league.

I have been in a few theme leagues which were formed via the public list and with some minor internal regulation, they were conducted in the spirit of the league. Obviously, a small data set should not lead to a generalized expectation for the future, but it does appear that managers in this community are generally conscientious and observant.

Should the need arise, I will turn to SOM support for assistance in remedying any potential foul-up. If they don't follow through as they claim, and they give me the old "Capitalism 101-Caveat Emptor", as many business concerns seem to do these days, then I will adjust my thoughts and actions in the future.

Best of Luck to Greg Minton in his quest for the Rolaids Reliever Award!

Never did 80s with $60M so I will give it a try. I have some names I remember and am hoping to get that 1 good year they had instead of the 4 bad ones that makes them a cheap card.

Awesome Dave, thanks for joining. Please keep in mind that it is not a traditional $60M league…each player is capped at $2.99M, unless we get a majority vote to allow for 16 additional SPs from the 3M-3.6M range.

Best wishes to Julio Franco in his quest for the Silver Slugger Award!

I vote for the extra SP. I thought that was already a rule and put some of them on my AD card.

Awesome, thanks for joining Bombers!

Sounds like you are interested in the 1 extra SP from 3M-3.6M. Here is how those players will be utilized (limit 1/team), if they end up being included at all:

If HAL auto drafts a SP greater than 3M on 7 of the 12 teams, (this is how a manager votes "Yea") then we will have a supplemental 1-round draft:

-The order will be based on the Waiver order and will be conducted via league messaging.
-Once the players are chosen (in draft order), you can pick that player up post waivers
-No need to waste a waiver claim on that player…he will be yours and yours alone

You indicated that you are voting "Yea" for the Supplemental SP Draft by placing an SP >3M on your draft card. If you put "some" of them on your card (more than one) than you would be effectively throwing away those extra auto draft slots.
You only need to spend one auto draft slot to vote "Yea" for the Supplemental Draft.

If a manager does not want to include the 1-round supplemental SP draft, then he would simply populate his draft card with 25 players 2.99M or less.

The vote was intended to be like a double-blind study, with independent inputs (controlling for band-wagon effect and peer pressure, etc…) that is why the process of anonymous voting is embedded in the process of selecting your draft card. The tally will be revealed to all when the auto-draft is completed, not before. Not a major problem though, in your case the cat is out of the bag, and you have made it known that you wish to utilize 1 extra SP from the 3M-3.6M range. Awesome!

Feel free to adjust your auto draft card so that only one SP greater than 3M is placed on it. Any more than that, and you are effectively throwing away auto draft spots in an already tight and constrained player pool.

Keep in mind that the SP draft only includes those SPs from 3M-3.60M and that the rights to each SP (order of draft) will be determined by the Waiver Order. There is no point in drafting any of those players, since you may end up having to release that player to another manager. If you do draft one of them for cost concerns when constructing your card, just realize that you may or may not be able to keep him after the supplemental draft.

Please review the previous posts if there are any inconsistencies in the logic or flow of events. If you have any further questions, I'll be here on the thread.

Best of luck to Lonnie Smith and Gary Redus as they battle it out on the league Stolen Base Leaderboard!

Crusty

Nice! Thanks for signing up, please review this thread in its entirety and if you have any questions let me know so that you can ensure that your draft card is not going to put you at a disadvantage when the auto-draft is complete. I acknowledge that the rules may appear a bit convoluted, so if you have questions put 'em out there!

Best of Luck to Dave Concepcion as he vies for the Golden Glove!

I get it now. I'll back out of the league and re-adjust my AD card and then rejoin. Thanks

This is great, didn't expect the quick fill up!

I'll be using the league chat from now on to tally the votes and run the Supplemental Draft if it is required.

Thanks to all for joining and also for raising valid concerns. my hope is to deal with them fairly in a manner that will be transparent to all.

Best Wishes!
