I wouldn't argue against any mystery card game but I'm hoping for a set prior to the 60's. Uncovering and learning about players you might not be familiar with would be more fun to me.
ATG is the most popular game in online SOM so going back in history isn't as crazy as you might think.
I'd love to see a "Fabulous 50s" mystery league...I have asked Strat in the past if there were any plans for a mystery league from the 50s or 40s and 50s...unfortunately the answer was no...
I would also like to see the 50's, but this was the decade prior to the 60's expansion meaning less players to form a balanced pool. I would like to see a combination of the 40's and 50's as the 40's were the war years and some of the talent was diluted or suspended for several years. Between both decades there should be an ample pool of players for mystery league seasons.

Definitely. Or a "random pull" of guys who had cards only in the 1950s. SO you could do a 50's only league.

Wow. I wrote that post over 3 years ago. If Strat were to do another mystery league, I think the 2000s make the most sense. Seems to me overall interest would be much greater. I'm strictly playing ATG these days...
