For those looking to create a team with a smaller player pool: All players CARDED for the following franchises (from all Eras in baseball history) are eligible: /////Los Angeles Angels/Houston Astros/Oakland A's/Seattle Mariners/Texas Rangers///// This includes: /////Cal/Ana/LAA-Hou-Oak/PHA (db-pre-post)/KCA (a few KCA from 1955-1968)-Sea-Tex/Was (2nd Generation Senators from 1961-1971)/////
PHA-Philadelphia Athletics…not the PHI Phillies/KCA-Kansas City Athletics…not the KC Royals…WAS (1961-1971) Senators…not the WAS Senators from 1960 and earlier.
The selected player cards must be from one of the 5 franchises, for example, A-Rod Sea/Tex only, NYY card not eligible.
There are over 200 pitchers (100 RP Only) available. There are over 300 Position Players (30 Catcher) available. If HAL deals you an ineligible player (not CARDED for one of the 5 franchises) during the draft, use the pre-season to get your rosters in compliance. The deadline for 100% compliant rosters will be Opening Day and cannot be infringed upon during the regular season.
An easy way to search for eligible players: use the "Team" drop down menu in the ATG 8 Player Set Browser.
CAL-post/CAL-exp/HOU-exp/OAK-exp/PHA-db/PHA-pre/PHA-post/SEA-exp/TEX-exp will all direct you to the eligible players.
You must also use a ballpark used by any of the aforementioned franchises at any point during their history.
