Fatigued?!

PostSat Aug 27, 2016 11:41 pm

My team swept the first round of the playoffs, and then had four days of rest before game 1 of the Finals. And yet in game 1, Elston came into the game fatigued. How is that possible?! He did not pitch for four days.

In game 2 Elson came in the game fatigued (which shouldn't be), as did Tippy (who pitched in game 1, but still should not be fatigued). How is that possible?!

And the icing on the cake was losing the first two games at home in the Finals.

Gotta be a bug. Hal didn't recognize any rest days separating semi-finals from finals. Maybe, he only recognizes rest days impact on starting pitchers? Of course, your relief pitchers didn't necessarily enter the game at F0. They could have pitched to one batter and immediately dropped from F9 to F0, but, I'm pretty sure that's not what happened.

Certainly a bug in HAL's calendar for not recognizing rest days between semi-finals and finals.

Or maybe the SOM published rules are wrong and there are only rest days between end of season and semifinals.

A very serious bug, if you ask me. I would contact the game company and ask for a refund or explanation.

Looks to me like they activated the closer rule.

Maybe.....although ATG VIII is not supposed to have the closer rule, and if that's what happened that's pretty messed up.

It apparently is a glitch.

See this recent thread on another board (the posts of MARCPELLETIER) - http://forum.365.strat-o-matic.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=641007

Since Elston pitched in each of the last three games of the Semi's he incorrectly comes in fatigued even though there are rest days in the schedule. Martinez is incorrectly fatigued in Finals game #2 because he pitched Semis #4 and Finals #1.

Would be interested in the response you get from online help. Agree that it needs to be fixed.

Thanks for pointing this out. Truly a pity that this known bug still exists. If they can get SPs to rest, can it really be that hard to program the system to understand that RPs get rest as well!? Management is sooo lazy sometimes and this can have a profound impact on a series.

I just got this reply from Strat-O management;

"Thank you for this report and the links to the games, it is a bug. We are working on correcting it as soon as possible."

So there you have it.

5 months old, The glitch's still on. Good job SOM. This is why I don't write to SOM anymore.

Scott enters fatigued despite having plenty of rest between Finals and semi-Finals.

I'm guessing they're afraid to try to fix the code for fear of breaking something else. Old code is hard to maintain. A larger problem is they don't seem to have a dependable bug tracking system, so, nobody knows what the real problems are. No programmer in their right mind just starts fixing code. They wait for a formal request via service ticket filled out by a customer or a help desk analyst. It's not as if you can write an email about a problem and expect to be told, "Oh, yeah, we're looking into it and we'll fix it." What they should be telling the customer is something like "Thank you for reporting the problem. Please refer to request #2394838 using this link for future correspondence....."
