Eaton's 19.6 FanGraphs overall defensive rating has him ranked sixth in baseball. But SOM will give him a 4 just like this past year. Yes I didn't let go of that one!

I doubt that. Last year he was in CF, this year he's in RF. Apples and oranges

Plus we went over the stats last year in CF. He was a borderline 3/4, so it wasn't that bad of a snub. At best he would have been a 3, he was pretty terrible.

He was really good defensively when he played here in AZ. not nearly as well in Chicago. I don't know if he lost range due to injury or what. I didn't follow him so closely after his departure. But he's a speedy white boy though.

I hope I'm not going to get any hate/racist mail for that comment. I grew up in Bridgeport, CT in the 50's and 60's, my first friends in public school were black. I grew up 2 blocks from the projects. Then my Mom sent me to Catholic School 2nd Grade through 8. It sounds so hypocritical, but Catholic School is where I first learned about racism. But I never bought into it, was unpopular as a result, but feel blessed to be from an Italian family, where my parents never taught me to be a racist. We're talking the 50's, 60's and 70's.

I watched just about every Sox game in 2015. I love Eaton but the 4 was well-deserved for his 2015 play in CF. However, his play in the corner OF in 2016 has been outstanding - I predict a RF-2 and CF-3 in 2016 SOM ratings.
