Ok, luck factors

Code: Select all
Mgr .. .   W   SI   HR   1-R   Pyt   Rolls   UE/E   Inj   Luck Fctr
Semper.   62   +5%   +5%   -2   +3   +0.3%   45%   -3    3.5
BigA...   61   +6%   -2%   +9   +1   +0.5%   59%   -13   3
Falcon.   59   +2%   +6%   +1   0    +0.7%   54%   -31   1
dale...   58   +3%   +3%   +6   -3   +0.2%   46%   -12   1
Spider.   68   +4%   -2%   +6   +2   +0.2%   70%   -49   1
Smokey.   66   -5%   -6%   +9   +4   +0.2%   64%   +12   0.5
Stoney.   62   +0%   -12%   -8   -2   +0.5%   49%   -48  0.5
JTJ....   70   +1%   -3%    0    -2   -0.6%   53%   -1   0
Hawk...   68   -6%   +4%   -3    0    -1.7%   78%   -48 -1.5
Doug...   64   -8%   -4%   -6    0    +0.4%   61%   -12 -2
Gbrooke   55   +6%   -4%   -6   -2   +0.2%   66%    +16  -2.5
Jeep...   63   -10%   -5%   -6   -1   -0.9%   47%   -30 -3

So, the "luck factors" say that Semper has been the luckiest team due to good BP rolls and and XChart actions. Big A is right there with Semp due to good singles and one run record.

On the flip side, Doug, GB and Jeep (no surprise eh Jeep?) bring up the rear. Jeep is bad in BP, rolls on his card and one runners, but has been good with the x-chart. GB has been more injury prone than expected, bad in one run and HRs, but above normal in singles. Doug bad in singles and one run games.

A couple of things you don't see often. Dale is good in one run games, but below his pythag! :? Don't see that much. Also, JTJ isn't out of the norm in any category. That is strange. Conversely, Smokey is out of the norm in almost every category! Bad in BP, but good in one runs and injuries, but bad in the X Chart.

Speaking of the X-Chart, here are is the fielding comparison

Code: Select all
Fieldng   FRt   Rtg   F%   Dif
JoeTJet   119   2   1   1   W
Spider.   139   2   3   -1   E
Doug...   288   4   3   1   W
Dale...   289   4   7   -3   C
BigAlrc   297   4   4   0   E
SemperG   328   4   6   -2   W
Gbrooke   396   5   7   -2   E
Smokey.   403   5   7   -2   W
nythawk   471   6   8   -2   E
Falcon.   489   6   11   -5   C
Stoney.   572   8   10   -2   C
Jeep...   597   9   6   3   C

They are pretty close, the results are in approximately the expected order, but the slope is steeper in the results than in the ratings. Biggest things to note:
1. Jeep's rating was 200 points better before his moves so that's why it looks like he's over performed
2. Dale would be expected to be better
3. Even more with Falcon. Unless I am doing something really wrong, his D should NOT be the worst in the league. Of course, it appears that Colon is getting a fair number of reps at SS and/or 3b and that could be why.

Wow, the races sure changed fast!

In the East, Things remain tight, but GB has dropped way off the pace (7 back) with a six game losing streak. Hawk has gone 9-1, but Spider has kept pace with an 8-2 record and they are tied at the top. Big A has struggled a bit, but remains only 2 back with plenty to go

Central - As Jeep pointed out in the inbox today, his sweep along with Dale taking 2 has dropped the lead to 3 games for Falcon who has gone 2-8.

West - JTJ has widened his lead (7-3) as Semper has hit a rough patch (2-8).

WC - All of the above means that Semper's lead has dropped to a single game over Spider/Hawk and 3 on Big A.

Hawk is pulling away with an eight game win streak! He's now 4 up over Spider.

Falcon is up by 7 and is the only team over .500 in that divison

JTJ is up by 9, pulling away from Semper, but...

Semper is still up 2 in the WC over Spider. He's the only real threat although Big A *could* slip ahead of both with a hot streak.

I wad a bit surprised by my injury factor (then Ross and Gordon went down for 15 and 10), but overall think they were about as expected.

I like seeing the X-factor ratings. I often look at them, but have never compared with other team ratings. It doesn't seem that luck has had a large impact (OK, maybe Jeep - but he then hit a hot streak after giving us "salary" edge).

Yeah, but you swept him last night! Going down the wire. It would appear the race in the Central and West is over. The WC comes down to Semper, Spider/Hawk and, with an outside shot, Big A.

Wow! What a series we had with Doug, all three games went extra innings and all were decided by 1 run.

We won the first on in 14, 1-0 and the second one 5-4 in 11. Doug pulled out the finale 2-1 also in 11. Crazy. 8-)

Three-way tie (Semper, Hawk, Spider) for the WC and BigA still has a good shot at it.

Hey guys, I never think to look here during the season. Some very insightful, interesting and funny posts in here. Most of the leagues I’m in abandon this once the season starts. I’ll have to start paying more attention!
On that note, getting swept by the 2nd place team is no way to kick-off the final week of the season. I’ve played the role of the 2011 Red Sox before, and it’s NOT fun. Until last night I’d gone 9-3 since Mr. Jeep gloated about sweeping me last week.
Perhaps worth noting is that since Geoff went off to Italy with his wife, he’s gone 5-16. I guess his choice for replacement GM wasn’t the best. That or the Strat Gods really hate him for abandoning his team at such a crucial time of the season.
