If I am understanding this thread (and this page of the thread) so far, I don't need to "protect" as "keepers" players that are carded only to the Expos (for all 5 of their card seasons), which includes the following players (all of whom were on my roster for season 1 of the 1970s):
Dawson, Andre
Valentine, Ellis
Carter, Gary
Jorgensen, Mike
Bailey, Bob
Cromartie, Warren
Parrish, Larry
Rogers, Steve
Stoneman, Bill
My understanding from this thread is that these players do not count toward my limit of 20 keepers. If this is incorrect, please let me know. (commish?)
Based on this, the keepers that I have - 19 in total - all of whom were on my roster at the end of last season - are as follows:
Morton, Carl
Renko, Steve
Lee, Bill F.
Fryman, Woodie
Torrez, Mike
Marshall, Mike
Taylor, Chuck
Sosa, Elias
Garman, Mike
Foote, Barry
McCarver, Tim
Fairly, Ron
Morales, Jose
Cash, Dave
Scott, Rodney
Garrett, Wayne
Foli, Tim
Dwyer, Jim
Staub, Rusty
If my understanding is not correct, please let me know. I must say this is a bit of a head scratcher, because with this interpretation of the rules, my whole end of season roster is protected, one way or another. Is this the correct way to look at it?
