Initial Draft and Closers

PostFri Dec 02, 2016 11:51 pm

I just went though a 24 team auto draft----I drafted 2 closers and missed both. (5th and 8th picks)

I got two subs that are rated R1C0.

Any reliever is an R0.

I think Strat should at least replace them in the auto draft with a R1 minimum as a R0 pitcher is the equivalent to no closer rating.

The best way to do this is just remove the R0 rating and let R1 be the worst closer rating--no recoding would be needed.

Not sure that's right....I thought no closer rating means the pitcher enters the game immediately at his point of weakness. The C0 guy has to give up a hit first--at any time, from the moment he enterst the game--to reach his point of weakness.

From Garcia's post on 5/12/16

" Pitchers with an N rating are treated the same as 0 rated closer and are automatically fatigued in a "closer situation" once allowing either a hit or a walk. "
