New Cards

PostSun Dec 04, 2016 4:32 am

Why is it so hard to add new cards? They are adding like 20 duds once every couple months. Call me crazy but shouldn't they be able to add like several hundred, if not thousand, much more often? Why couldn't they add every card from the 1970s,1980s, and 1990s Mystery sets? The cards and images of the cards are already here, it is 2016, the age of computers.... I hope SOM is not losing money because it sure seems like it...???

I think that pricing that many cards would be very difficult. They have a lot of stuff going on with their games for all the big 4 sports. And it's really only a 3 or 4 man operation AFAIK.

Years ago MLB sued Strat over licensing fees for their using the player and team names in their game. They sent some accountants to SOM to see their books, and called off their suit because they didn't think the whole company was worth what it would have cost them to pursue their claim.

Here's my 2 cents on the recent card add...
4 MVP's
1 CY
20 cards that represent new franchises
14 net new players
Rockies are getting close (Offensively that is) That is a scary lineup.

From a playability standpoint my take has these cards at the top of the list:
Randy Johnson
Sam McDowell
Felix Hernandez
Josh Donaldson
Paul Goldschmidt
Matt Holliday

Anyway, since I voiced my complaints all three of my above .500 teams have lost eight of nine games. Probably just a coincidence, but I think I will not be commenting or complaining anymore...

Radagast Brown - how about joining the Test Drive League and play with these cards first hand?
