2017 Mystery Tournament - signup here

Please sign up at the end of this thread. Sign up only if you are committed to play in all four events. The Tournament requires each player to participate in all 4 events (60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s) because we need to fill all the leagues and if people drop out, then we can't fill all the leagues and the tournament could be wrecked.

I think the winner of the preceding year's tournament should take on the role.

I would hate to have this tournament get dropped.

If STRAT would add a mystery league for the 2000's that might help!

Is there any training on being a commissioner? How do you become one? and is there any incentive for being one? That might help in recruitment.

No training, no incentive. The lack of incentive from Strat was part of what turned me off after all the work that I put in as commissioner two years ago. You have to prod Strat along the entire way through the process to get the tournament up and running and to keep the standings pages updated. Lot of work, lot of people that don't seem to understand that they need to be engaged in the process when the new decades start. I love the tournament, but do not like the lack of support and the managers that ignore repeated reminders of when each season will start.

I was commissioner last year, and I'm willing to do it again this year, but Franky, your comments are most welcome and most important. Ducky is right - it's a big job. Last year I got some very important help from several gamers, including Falcon29 (and some others).

Thanks for stepping up, Geoff. I would be willing to help, but only having satellite internet with a very limited capacity makes timely communication difficult. I definitely will participate in the tournament.
