Hank Robinson, 1915

Hank does not have a starter rating for his SOM 1915 card. But he started 15 games and completed 6. Mmmm...another SOM mistake.

I think I prefer some of these decisions. Robinson as a RP-only is a usable RP in many situations. As an SP/RP, wouldn't be worth as much.

Agreed, SOM mistakes can be fruitful.

He's not alone. Many of the historic SP/RP who ended up with great stats while starting only a few games only received a RP card or were simply not carded at all.

A number of old timers had their SP ratings removed in order to provide enough RP-only cards for the early card set. These are slowly being replaced as the cadillac cards are added. A sensible compromise, to me.

I am not sure why they still have the 3 pure relievers rule, though. Most starter-reliever cards are priced to be unusable at all but the unlimited cap.
